05 Claudia Bitran Smack MellonOutpost welcomes Cuts and Burns Resident Claudia Bitran, who will be working on special effects for her ongoing epic shot-for-shot reinterpretation of Titanic by James Cameron. Since starting the project in 2014, she has produced, directed and starred in every scene of the blockbuster. She has recruited 500+ friends, family members and people in public spaces to act and participate in her ambitious and playful productions, that have taken place in 15 cities across Chile and the United States.

The project has been supported by artist residencies and exhibition spaces in which she has been able to produce the sets, find the actors, put together performances and collaborate with a variety of artists and friends.  Her experimental film moves between live action and animation and the characters change for from scene.
